Senior Manager, Product Management (LC/GC Consumables) Full-time

The job:


As our new Senior Manager, Product Management, you will formulate mid and long-term product strategies for our LC/GC Consumables product franchise and lead your team of 5 Product Managers to meet and exceed growth and profitability targets.


A key focus of this role is to drive the Chromatography Consumables Product Innovation Pipeline, developing products to address unmet customer needs, working in close collaboration with the R&D team and Operations.


Being a key member of the Chromatography Consumables Management team, you will work with the Senior Marketing Manager to develop and execute global marketing programs to drive profitable growth of our LC/GC consumables business. Having the collaboration skills necessary to work within a broad team, specifically with the HPLC and LSMS instrumentation groups, your will excite and generate customer awareness of our products and capabilities.


As the successful candidate you will have a strong technical understanding of Chromatography and associated instruments and consumables. You will also have deep insight into market share, competitors, key customers and commercial opportunities.


We are offering this role as fully remote (working from home) based anywhere in the United Kingdom or western Europe. When safe to do so, some international travel will be required (up to 25% per annum), including overnight stays.

What will you do?


  • Manage all aspects of the LC/GC Consumables product franchise including strategic pricing & product positioning, competitive analysis, value proposition, product promotion, product roadmaps, forecasting, and Go to Market Strategy definition

  • Inspire a team of global product managers & application scientists, coordinating and prioritizing all activities for their respective product lines and application development

  • Ensure product roadmaps, requirements, and business plans are updated for both new and existing products

  • Consolidate forecasts, monitor competitive activity, identify product differentiation opportunities and identify new product opportunities for the marketplace

  • Create, manage and monitor business plans for the LC/GC Consumables & Accessories Product Franchise

  • Provide strategy and direction for all promotions for new and existing products to increase revenue and profit; product launches, web, commercial promotions, customer and commercial training

  • Leads preparation for supplier negotiations and contract development


Who we are looking for:


  • Masters or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, or related discipline; MBA would be an advantage

  • Proven Sales, Marketing or Product Management experience in the Analytical Instrumentation/ Chromatography Consumables industry (essential)

  • Understanding of Chromatography columns development/product management highly beneficial

  • Previous people management experience (essential)

  • Demonstrated technical capability and knowledge of LC-MS is highly desirable

  • Previous experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, focussing on Small Molecules development would be an advantage

  • Previous experience working into a complex matrix organization

  • Strong oral and written communications skills, with an ability to affect other people and influence direction

  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently, to take initiative and to exercise astute business judgement to drive performance

  • Process improvement experience a plus

  • Fluent in English (verbal & written); additional European languages a plus

  • Willing and able to travel internationally (up to 25% per annum), including overnight stays

  • Driving licence preferred
