Founded in 2013 by 2 good friends, Indie Campers has set its mission on democratizing road trips by enhancing travel experiences and lowering prices for millions of travellers worldwide. Revenue



The Indie Campers Revenue team works across the user lifecycle to develop a compelling global marketplace and community around road trips. We employ data and insights to help us best acquire, engage, serve, monetise and retain travellers and hosts across all of our territories to ensure that our customers are able to go on amazing road trips around the world. The Revenue team consists of our Customer Excellence, Marketing, Supply, Revenue Management and Data teams, so the work you do will depend on your particular blend of skills but will always be customer-centric, data-driven and collaborative as we work on increasing customer choice, value and satisfaction. Lisbon



Our Lisbon office is located in the city center, known for its beautiful landscape, history and vibrant cultural scene. It is a place where our Product and Technology, Operations and Revenue teams meet informally, co-create together, have fun during lunch and enjoy our lovely barbecues at our terrace.




As Director of E-Commerce, we are looking for those with a practical and analytical mindset that are focused on delivering real-world results alongside solving complex problems spanning multiple teams. Your role would span across everything from setting up new vehicles, locations and prices, to developing promotional campaigns, to monitoring payments, refunds and customer satisfaction. You would be at the heart of a complex, international e-commerce business and would touch nearly every department in delivering our business results. You would be part of a dynamic, talented and international team covering many skills and a broad range of mindsets.




What you´ll do:



  • Deliver on our commercial results across revenue, gross margin and customer satisfaction through managing core levers and operational processes to ensure we exceed our goals and do so efficiently and effectively

  • Manage and develop a team to be able to own the detail of each market, building the proposition and adjustments required to be a truly localised business

  • Create relevant reporting to support timely operations of the business

  • Monitor and assess competitor activities and industry trends to take appropriate action as well as informing / updating key management stakeholders

  • Continuously monitor website performance across destination and origin markets to identify issues to resolve and opportunities for enhancements

  • Optimise merchandising throughout the customer journey to maximise revenue opportunities

  • Set standards for Field Operations on quality, down-time and cost management

  • Set standards for Customer Excellence on quality, cost and resolution of complaints

  • Assess and address payment failures both operationally and systematically

  • Identify opportunities to increase revenues through better processes and less revenue leakage

  • Create analysis, recommendations, and presentations to support initiatives and projects

  • Develop standard templates, scorecards, and benchmarking capability across customer teams and region

  • Ensure consistent and accurate set-up of products - including prices, descriptions, copy and images

  • Perform data segmentation analysis to support promotional campaigns and program enhancements

  • Continually review core business unit activities (systems, processes, procedures) to identify opportunities to improve core functions, growth and profitability


Who you are:



  • Bachelor or Master in a quantitative or scientific degree (Business, Math, Physics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, etc)

  • 5+ years of experience in e-commerce and / or travel

  • Understands how digital businesses operate and how to optimise processes around them

  • Experience of hiring, managing and developing a team

  • Can do attitude. Autonomous, proactive, team oriented, tech savvy and results driven

  • Ability to work under pressure and short deadlines on complex and unstructured problems

  • Fluent in English (mandatory). Fluency in German is a plus.

  • Experience with data analytics/visualisation tools is a plus (Eg: Excel, Google Data Studio, PowerBI, etc.)
