THE ROLE & TEAM

Working within the Analytics & Insight function, we have a great opportunity for a full time System Admin & Developer focusing on Tableau.

Within the role you will have the opportunity to partner with the Analytics & Insights and Data Engineering functions as well as the wider business to best utilise Tableau as the Group?s primary reporting tool.

We are looking for someone with a background in BI reporting, data modelling and process governance who enjoys working within a fast-paced e-commerce environment.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Creating technical solutions for business needs by translating requirements into innovative, elegant solutions. This will involve; strategising and ideating with the team on new solutions; taking ownership and productionising prototyped solutions ; and partnering across functions to improve BI reporting overall.
• 
  Ownership & administration of Tableau platform, including Tableau Services Manager (TSM), with specific focus on user permissions, data sources, extract scheduling, licencing, performance, governance, and maintenance.
• 
  Rationalising and documenting all Tableau datasources and reports.
• 
  Designing, building and maintaining new Tableau data sources and extracts while aligning with other BI teams, performing peer / code reviews & testing as required. .Implementing continuous improvements of recurring Tableau processes to ensure maximum performance and data quality.
• 
  Implementing & enforcing BI best practices including: reporting on and enforcing good governance; standardising KPIs, Dimensions & reports; creating robust technical and business facing documentation; manging changes and version control across environments; and developing style guides and best-practices for Tableau development.
• 
  Drive Tableau adoption & usage across the organisation by providing training to various business groups.
• 
  Quickly and effectively diagnose and respond to service desk requests regarding Tableau.
• 
  Enhance front-end dashboard and report design, bringing best practices to clearly communicate insights and performance to our stakeholders.
• 
  Assist in and upskill for migrations to other BI tools if required.

WHAT WE?RE LOOKING FOR

• Tableau Server configuration, management, and optimisation experience.
• 
  Tableau Desktop report & dashboard development experience.
• 
  Practical understanding of multidimensional modelling, data warehousing concepts and methodologies, and how BI tools interact with the underlying data.
• 
  KPI/OKR development experience.
• 
  Demonstrated experience of writing and optimising SQL queries.
• 
  Demonstrated ability to translate a question into a visualisation which provides insight, answers the question, and can be reused / adapted.
• 
  Able to creatively stretch the capability of Tableau to customise and develop creatively stunning and dynamic visualisations.
• 
  Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, effective knowledge-sharing skills, and decision-making abilities.
• 
  Fluent English is essential (both spoken and written).
• 
  Desire to learn and adopt leading technologies and practices.
• 
  Ability to work under own initiative or as part of a team.
• 
  The willingness to adopt new BI tools if required.
• 
  Experience in other BI tools is a bonus to bring platform agnostic experience to the role.
