Over the last 20 years, we have built our industry expertise by partnering with hostels worldwide, enabling them to manage and distribute their inventory to our highly engaged and valuable global customer base.As a data analyst, you are a member of a centralised team of data-driven influencers, leading the way for how data and analytics is used at HostelWorld, and inspiring our Growth units to action.


The role and team

Our Growth units use an extensive range of data sources to track the full user journey to understand what is going well for our users, where we can optimise and what to build next. As the data analyst ? an individual with high level of intellectual curiosity, excellent command of data analytics tools and passionate about applying data to build solutions - you will be key to these data driven decisions, working within a diverse Growth unit (marketing, engineering, product and design) enabling them to apply your data insights and models to build a better world for our customers.


In this role, while you are embedded in the Growth teams, you are a member of the centralised analytics team which will provide you with a range of supports to build out your analytics toolkit and develop your career.


Key Responsibilities

  • Although reporting into our Analytics team, you will work as a dotted line report to our Head of Mobile to discover opportunities to create growth in mobile native apps.

  • Keep the company up to date on overall user analytics metrics through dashboards and regular team updates.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to establish the highest business priorities and opportunities by measuring expected reach and impact.

  • Define and maintain common metric definitions across the business.

  • Identify the opportunities most important for growth, to remove barriers for product adoption, retention, engagement, and/or monetization, and partner with our growth-focused engineering teams to execute on projects based on what?s identified to accelerate the growth and adoption of Facebook Inc. products in all the markets we serve.

  • Understand funnels, ecosystems, user behaviors, and long-term trends in the adoption of our products to identity opportunities for step-changes and angle changes in growth.

  • Optimize funnels to reduce friction and drive the best possible experience for users who are going through any product flows necessary to become users of our products and services.

  • Analyze the results of experiments to determine what should launch or not. Learn from and iterate on those experiments by identifying additional opportunities to drive growth

  • Collaborate and share learnings with wider analytics team to ensure consistent analytics standards and rigour is applied to in all use cases.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience with quantitative data analysis.

  • 2+ years experience working collaboratively with product team members such as: product management, engineering, design, data science, data engineering etc.

  • 2+ years experience with product optimization work i.e. funnel/website optimization and/or outbound communication channels like email or push notifications.

  • Experience in making analytical, data-driven decisions and communicating the results of analyses.

  • Advanced SQL experience (querying both structured & unstructured data types)

  • Hands on experience using Google Analytics, Tableau, Firebase, Branch, and other tools to extract, analyze, and visualize data.

  • Experience in statistics (e.g. hypothesis testing, product experimentation, regressions, experimentation logic and biases).

  • Experience with either Amplitude, Mixpanel, and/or Google Analytics

  • Highly analytical mindset with demonstrated ability to work through complex, ambiguous problems using data.


Huge Plus

  • You have extensive experience with Tableau.

  • You?ve worked in a Social product company.

  • You?ve worked with Mobile Paid Acquisition teams.
