Strategy & Operations Manager, Uber Mobility Full-time

We are the local eyes on Uber?s operations team, and own city-specific business outcomes and bridge our overall business strategy with local needs. We ensure complex, business-critical compliance work is done in a high-quality way and champion the core Uber experience in our cities.

About the Role



We are looking for a sharp, highly motivated individual to join our operations team based in Lisbon. These roles within the operations team require a combination of project management, analytical ability, problem-solving and interpersonal skills to work together with key stakeholders. You'll have the opportunity to work on both strategy and execution - taking projects from idea through to implementation.




The role will work closely with several operational and functional teams including EMEA central operations teams, Marketing, Legal, Business Development, Policy & Comms teams as well as other HQ collaborators across the business.

What You'll Do



  • Driver and Rider needs - Use internal and external data to better understand the mobility needs of existing and prospective customer segments (e.g,. what use cases do they need served, what elements of the rider experience matter most, etc.) or drivers (e.g., what barriers are there to drive, or what barriers to E.Vehicle adoption and how can we help overcome them to meet our sustainability targets)

  • Value proposition - Identify what customer value proposition is most appealing to targeted customer groups, decide if their needs should be addressed through existing, customized or brand-new product offerings

  • Go to market - Work with the relevant Ops and Functional teams to define go-to market strategies (e.g., Marketplace, Marketing, CRM, Performance Marketing, Comms, etc.)

  • Data analytics & problem solving - Define which data is needed to understand a problem, query it, and use analytics to identify issues/opportunities related to the problem at hand (ex: performance of products/features), understand the root causes, propose solutions, drive decisions, implement solutions and track results

  • Cross-functional teamwork and stakeholder management - Engage with other operations teams and functional teams (e.g,. Marketing, Comms, Policy, Uber for Business, CRM, Legal, etc.) that will chip in to the successful delivery of your work

  • Project management and execution - Plan and project lead multiple projects and have the ability to implement in a constantly evolving, sophisticated environment

  • Product/feature launches - Collaborate closely with our EMEA and HQ Product teams to test and roll out new features or products that address customer needs


Basic Qualifications



  • An average of 4 years of experience in project management, consulting, operations, strategy or revenue management

  • BSc or MSc in a quantitative field, such as economics, mathematics or engineering

  • Proficient in Excel

  • Professional proficiency in Portuguese and English

  • Strong project management skills - the ability to prioritize and successfully drive a project from plan to implementation and results.

  • Strategic problem solver, able to work through sophisticated, high level challenges and recommend short and long term solutions

  • Proven track record of being a respected operational problem solver

  • Cross-functional collaboration - you will partner with a range of local and regional teams including Policy, Business Development, Legal, Product, Marketing, Central Operations, Customer Experience, Regulatory Operations and Cities to launch initiatives

  • Ability to take initiative in a constantly-changing work environment and implement quickly

  • Experience interpreting and communicating data to various audiences; ability to translate quantitative findings into action plans


Preferred Qualifications



  • SQL knowledge preferred and if not, must possess the skills to learn quickly as this will quickly form part of your day-to-day
