Your role at Baxter:



As a Sales Representative for the Acute Therapies division, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Products with a specific focus on the Capital Sale of Medical Devices and Disposables within Lisbon and the southern half of Portugal. We are seeking someone that delivers on sales and profit targets, and that is passionate on providing the highest level of service and selling interactions to our Public and Private Healthcare customers.

What are your responsibilities?




  • Provide clinical, financial and value-based solutions to key decision makers within the Healthcare sector

  • Educate Healthcare professionals using the Challenger Sales Model to ensure take up of Company Products to optimize patient outcomes

  • Ability to manage complex long sales cycles across the breadth of the decision-making unit

  • Tenacity to navigate the Capital Sales Process within the Public and Private Hospitals, creating opportunities for growth in an environment with limited resources

  • Create, implement and review territory business plans that are aligned to a National strategy plus the ability to identify and act upon local opportunities

  • Developing and nurturing collaborative relationships to grow existing business base by differentiating solutions clinically and financially versus the competition

  • Individual and group selling skills, as well effectively navigating a variety of customer types through the sales cycle

  • Ability to negotiate consistent and transparent pricing to secure long term profitable and sustainable sales/market presence

  • Forecasting as well as sales data and market analyses to inform activity and ensure a focused and results driven return on time

  • Drive the tender management process, including pre-tender focused activity and tender submission

  • Work closely with peers as well as with the wider team (marketing, clinical, IT) to continually drive a culture of collaboration, support and sharing best practice

  • Creative mindset to thrive in a constantly changing external environment, as well as adapting to evolving internal business priorities

  • The use of CRM system to support planning, sequential selling and territory analyses



We are presently seeking people who have/are:




  • Degree level qualification or relevant Clinical background

  • Successful Healthcare Capital Equipment Sales/Medical Device experience (min 3 years)

  • Experience in leading medical device training sessions/ and or work shops

  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach

  • Experience in Critical Care, ICU and/or resuscitation will be highly valued

  • Digital Savvy, have a good understanding of the technology and tools used in the new digital environment

  • Knowledge of tenders/deal structuring

  • A flair for working with people

  • The ability to work in a fast paced, challenging environment

  • Knowledge of hospital dynamics and decision path, capital funding mechanisms

  • Fluency in English and Portuguese

  • Resourceful IT user
