We are looking for someone that can be responsible for the application engineering of signalling interlocking (IXL) software according to the project and product specifications, covering both hardware and software specification, definition of interface specification, design of communications interfaces, creation of test specifications and documentation, execution and support of static and dynamic tests.


Signalling Railway Engineer role offers you the possibility to work in an international and multidisciplinary engineering team, facing challenging projects both in the national and international markets.


This role allows the possibility of working part of the time in mobile working / home office, offering a high level of flexibility and better control of the work-life balance.


Main Tasks & Responsibilities:



  • Project requirements analysis and traceability

  • Generation of technical specifications,

  • Generation of design documents and drawings related to Control Center Subsystem.

  • Generation of the Specific Application SW configuration data related to IXL Subsystem.

  • Generation and management of the design change requests related to IXL Subsystem

  • Creation and review of interface specification between IXL and other systems.

  • Creation of project specific documentation regarding IXL (track parameters, track map, safety documentation, etc.).

  • Generation of deployment, testing and commissioning procedures.

  • Generation of the operation, maintenance and training documents.

  • Implementation, test and commissioning of hardware and software solutions.

  • Provide customer training.

  • Provide support to project installation and maintenance works.

  • Reporting of progress & planning of IXL activities.

  • Communication and collaboration with other engineering areas and Mobility departments.

  • Proactively identifies areas of innovation, opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities.


Requirements - Education/Experience:



  • Bachelor?s or Master's degree in Electrical engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or similar.

  • Strong computer science knowhow/skills Fluent English skills.

  • Knowledge and previous experience with Microsoft tools, Windows, Word, Excel.

  • Fluent in English.

  • Ability to work in teams, good communication skills and a results-oriented approach.

  • Timetable flexibility as requested for the project.

  • Some availability for domestic and international travels with possibility in working abroad if and when needed.

Desirable:



  • Previous experience in a Rail Signalling business (preferably within IXL signalling technologies for applications in mainline (e.g., ERTMS), Freights and Light Rail.

  • Experience in international projects and ability to work with teams distributed in several countries.

  • Use of engineering tools such as AutoCAD, ...

  • Advanced capabilities in data analysis by use of Microsoft Excel, including creation VBA macros.

  • Experience in Requirements Management, specification, traceability and validation. Knowledge of requirements management tools such as DOORS.

  • Knowledge of CENELEC standards and V-life Cycle models

  • Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Subversion, PVCS

  • Fluent in Spanish

  • Willingness to travel worldwide when required.
