Job Overview




We are a fast-growing B-Corp company that strongly believes every single kencko-er we hire is a key part of our shared success. We are now seeking a full-time Transportation Manager to be a part of the team in our Lisbon-Marvila office. This position requires strong leadership and teamwork skills, good analytical and critical thinking, and the ability to plan, organize and prioritize work and communicate effectively.




Main Goals




Manage Kencko's daily outbound shipments as well as the inbound transportation flow of finished goods between our central warehouse and the PT and US fulfillment centers. That requires collaborating with different teams, closely monitoring the inbound and outbound transportation flows, and proactively working on solving any issues that may impact inventory availability or the delivery service to our members; reviewing and implementing efficient processes in order to minimize costs and reduce delivery times.




Responsibilities:




  • Leading and supervising a team responsible for all of the following activities:

  • Ensure all the necessary documentation and information needed for inbound and outbound transportation is issued correctly and in a timely manner

  • Monitor and resolve shipping and transportation related issues

  • Promote clear internal communication and offer visibility over all transportation related activities

  • Bridge the communication between internal and external teams involved with shipping and transportation

  • Create and maintain business relationships with service providers (including contract negotiations)

  • Analyze data and KPIs to track transportation status and carrier performance in different markets

  • Analyze and recommend improvements in the transportation processes to minimize costs and drive efficiencies

  • Work closely with the Stock manager to ensure the proper flow of goods between our central warehouse and the fulfillment centers

  • Assist in invoice approval and reconciliation and budget forecasting

  • Train and support all new employees and temporary staff in your department. This includes sharing and requesting resources as needed

  • Embody and promote a healthy working culture that is true to Kencko?s values, fostering a sense of teamwork and collaboration




Experience You Bring




  • 5+ years of working experience, of which 3+ in logistics in international transportation

  • Experience with small parcel industry/retail ecommerce is preferred



  • Strong negotiation skills and strategic thinking

  • Experience in establishing and managing relationships with carriers and service providers

  • Team management experience

  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills

  • Very strong analytical skills

  • Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets or similar tools including formulas

  • Excellent organization and communication skills

  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment

  • Comfortable working in an evolving and dynamic environment

  • Ability to laugh at yourself and at the small day to day things

  • Excellent level of spoken and written English

  • Good level of spoken and written Portuguese is preferred

  • Bonus Points: working with an ERP such as Sage or Netsuite
