Purpose of Position

Support the Indirect Tax Manager in executing the tax strategy of all NetJets Europe company taxation policy, with focus in indirect taxes. Ensure all NetJets entities are tax compliant in all relevant territories where NetJets operates. Support the Indirect Tax Manager in the development of the indirect taxes? practices within NetJets Group. Legally minimize tax liabilities and mitigate tax risks, recommend improvements in the operation of NetJets Europe tax function and be the contact point with the local tax authorities when necessary to address tax issues, provide explanations/documents upon the manager approval and make sure tax audits are conducted the best and smoothly way possible. Provide internal tax consultancy when necessary

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Ensure NetJets Europe entities are compliant with Indirect Tax rules in all relevant territories where NetJets operates;


• Orientate and participate in the development of NetJets Europe indirect tax practice;


• Analise and review all internal process and Indirect tax structures, as well as international supply chain transactions involving NJE Group Entities;


• Assist the Indirect Tax Manager with research, investigation and study of indirect tax regimes, legal frameworks and tax solutions when issues arise. Research tax consequences of transactions. Investigate and analyse new legislation that may impact NetJets? operation;


• Provide guidance and best solutions to optimize NJE Tax position, with a main focus in Indirect taxes exposure in the different countries where NetJets operates as well as in relation to International tax matters, applicable to all NetJets Europe and NetJets US group companies


• Analyse and review all internal process and tax structures with a main focus in Indirect taxes, and with International Taxation involving NJE Group Entities, but ensuring all areas of tax are duly addressed;


• Review all the invoices aligned with accounts payables and receivables with the purpose of increasing the VAT recovery of the group;


• Answer other departments? questions on indirect taxation issues daily;


• Explain/ answer on Tax Authorities questions and requests to provide relevant information. Conduct tax audits performed by the tax/customs authorities under the supervision of the Indirect Tax Manager;


• Preparing all information necessary to claim VAT borne in EU countries where NetJets is entitled to a refund and answering on questions raised by the tax authorities on such claims;


• Responsible for the domestic and International VAT/Indirect compliance obligations due by NetJets companies (Europe and US). Responsibility to coordinate with tax providers the International VAT/Indirect compliance obligations;

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)

• University degree in Management and/or Economics;

  
  

• 4 - 6 years of prior experience addressing and dealing with Indirect Tax issues in a big 4 firm or multinational organization;

  
  

• Knowledge of most common taxes and taxation mechanisms;

  
  

• Knowledge of accounting principles and VAT/other Indirect Taxes;

  
  

• Knowledge of Portuguese tax compliance and proceedings, investigate and analyse international tax rules;

  
  

• Fluency in Business English (written and spoken);

  
  

• Proficiency in MS Office.
