Introduction:

Our client is a prestigious multinacional company in the Automotive sector and intends to recruit a Head of Human Resources for its activity in Lisbon area.

Job Description:

The main goal of this function is to establish the HR Business Partner role, providing HR advice, support and training to the management team in all aspects including employment law, recruitment, remuneration and other HR related topics in conjunction with the HR department (in terms of admin services), namely:

  • Provides HR advice and support to the business to ensure the delivery of corporate objectives and strategy, whilst ensuring all activities comply with company policies and processes, and employment legislation;
  • Provides employee relations advice and support to line managers on issues including performance, absence, discipline and grievance;
  • Coaches line managers and staff in all aspects of HR policies and procedures;
  • Acts as internal consultant and change agent to ensure cultural and organizational initiatives are understood and accepted;
  • Supports managers with employee development, succession planning and talent retention to ensure appropriate levels of skills and knowledge are in place to meet ongoing business needs;
  • Ensures sustainable, efficient and cost-effective assignment of staff (implementing and coordinating recruitment, transfers and terminations, headcount tracking and reporting);
  • Acts as first point of contact for expats/ impats, is responsible for steering and implementing of expat/ impat management processes in conjunction with topic management and HQ;
  • Ensures a correct application of the compensation system, benefit regulations and salary review process. If required by business needs be involved in the design of a compensation & benefit model/ components;
  • Manages and/or participates in HR and/or business projects to support business priorities;
  • Supports line managers with the corporate management development process;
  • Supports managers regarding the promotion of employees: supports the preparation, coordination and steering of people development conferences, drive changes and enhancement;
  • Implements the potential development and appraisal process;
  • Ensures all employees receive appraisals in accordance with company policies and monitor probationary periods. Handles performance issues in a legally compliant and professional way, together with the internal labor law team or external legal support;
  • Supports the communication/ training of managers on how to set-up an individual development plan and conducts development training need analysis for all employees based on individual agreements. Supports the preparation of development training need analysis in the design, implementation and follow-up of a training plan with input from business heads. Manages costs to budget;
  • Supports cultural changes and engagement initiatives including employee survey in conjunction with organizational development team and divisional HR;
  • Represents the company's interests and goals;
  • Prepares and negotiates HR topics with codetermination representatives;
  • Ensures negotiations, coordination and realization of personnel individual measures (e.g. employments, terminations, transfers, regroupings);
  • Provides advice, guidance and support to managers and staff in order to effectively manage issues of discipline and grievance in accordance with company values, policies and guidelines;
  • Represents the employer in legal disputes;
  • Executes a quantitative and qualitative HR planning and reporting in conjunction with the HR planning & reporting team in HQ;
  • Monitors company specific HR budget for recruitment, training & development in accordance with internal procedures, ensuring best value and quality;
  • Ensures implementation and communication of relevant HR policies & guidelines within the company;
  • Ensures all HR related compliance controls are fully and timely conducted in conjunction with cross divisional topic management compliance;
  • Managing and accompanying internal and external Audits;
  • Plans and coordinates projects and campaigns on a national and international level, manages and works in project teams and committees;
  • Ensures monthly payroll process;
  • HR Administration.

Skills:

  • University degree in Economics or Law, Psychology/Sociology or similar area of studies;
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in the field of Human Resources;
  • Practical experience of working as Business Partner in HR function;
  • Significant experience of successfully managing the coordination and delivery of key HR services & employee relations;
  • Experience with working in global organizations;
  • Operative experience in payroll management & HR Admin;
  • Good command of MS Windows Office Package (specially Excel & PowerPoint);
  • Fluent in written and spoken Portuguese and English (mandatory);
  • Familiar with local labor legislation;
  • Hands-on involvement in HR practices;
  • Knowledge in dealing with employee relations issues including health management, grievance, disciplinary, capability, terms and conditions of employment and change management;
  • In depth knowledge of HR policies and processes;
  • Awareness of data protection legalization;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, proactive and mature;
  • People oriented;
  • Flexible, agile and willing to work under pressure.
