We are looking for a Full-Stack Ruby on Rails Developer to support our Distance Learning team and provide technical leadership for iversity, an online platform for eLearning and MOOCs.

You will:

• 
  Maintain and extend the backend of our RoR applications. This includes writing automated tests, performing code reviews, and reviewing code


• Ensure stable and reliable operation of the platform


• Support the tasks and projects of the project acquisition and sales teams with technical solutions


• Provide assessments on feature requests and advise on possible solutions


• Make sound decisions on the technology and architecture of the platform


• Communicate technical contexts in a clear and understandable way, also to non-technical people


• Advise and lead freelancers (developers, designers, QA, admin)


• Collaborate with different stakeholders and teams internally and externally

Main requirements

• Degree in computer science or comparable qualification


• 3+ years of experience in development with the Ruby on Rails framework


• Expert knowledge in the backend of Rails based applications


• Solid knowledge of the entire web stack


• Well familiar with common Linux and Rails related services on the server side (Elastic, Redis, Passenger, nginx, ..)


• You are able to balance and prioritize compatibility, stability, maintainability and time constraints


• Agile thinking and working, good self-organization and communication skills


• Experience in leading and building small development teams
