Job Title: People Partner


Reports into: Head of HR


The People partner will be responsible to translate the HR strategy into actions to deliver the expected level of HR service for the population s/he manages. This will include support to managers, recruitment, training, careers and development, disciplinary management on her/is perimeter.


Among others, he/she will perform on the following duties:

  • Coaching and advice:

    • Works closely with managers to implement and enforce the HR initiatives (policies, programs, processes ...),

    • Provides guidance and direction to employees with emphasis on maintaining a high performing work environment,

    • Meets with managers and employees to discuss issues and provides guidance on resolving them.

  • Recruitment, Careers & Development

    • Helps defining on his/er perimeter current and future talent needs, but also retention actions and succession planning,

    • Will contribute to building pipelines, screening profiles, interviewing talents and managing the employer branding.

    • Build & coordinate training plan with the managers,

    • Elaborate & conduct HR internal trainings.

  • Continuous improvement:

    • Promotes feedback mechanisms for employees to influence the continuous improvement of HR services and processes;

    • Ensures HR practices are aligned with business needs and makes recommendations to HR leadership when changes are appropriate;

    • Provides input to the design and development of company-wide HR initiatives and ensures they are aligned with business needs;

  • Onboarding and Offboardings

    • Ensure onboarding, probation period and exit processes are compliant with Group policies

    • Conducts onboarding, probation period follow-up and exit interviews and shares feedback with Head of HR & partners to identify trends and risks.

  • Admin and Compliance:

    • Ensure immigration, relocation & internal mobility processes are running smoothly

    • Ensure admin processes are running smoothly

    • Ensure admin requests are treated according to agreed SLAs

    • Ensure HR policies and processes are applied

  • Office culture / Happiness Officer:

    • Implements satisfaction/motivation barometers, measures and acts accordingly in order to maintain good team spirit in office

    • Participate to the Office Internal Communication

    • Collaborate on appropriate events to strengthen sense of belonging: Jumia Anniversary party, Monthly events, Afterworks, Christmas party, any other event deemed relevant,

    • Ensures safety and security at work with the support of the Office Assistant

Profile:

  • Master?s degree in HR, Management or similar area

  • 3 to 5 years? experience in a strategic, generalist HR role within a high-growth, complex, international environment

  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of legal compliance and employment laws

  • High sense of confidentiality, human values.

  • Sense of service, responsiveness, thoroughness, organization & sense of priorities

  • Pragmatic, proactive and polyvalent
