Champalimaud Research (CR) has open positions for laboratory administrators looking for a professional, dynamic and diverse work environment. As a lab admin, you will be part of the CR Support Units (CRSU) providing daily support to several labs, being their main contact point regarding administrative laboratory issues; therefore you will communicate frequently with or on behalf of Principal Investigators and closely interact with several departments within CR and the Champalimaud Foundation (CF).


Responsibilities


CRSU works diligently to ensure that scientists can focus mainly on Research. Lab admins manage the administrative tasks that support daily laboratory activities. This includes:


? Procurement, sourcing and purchasing from multiple suppliers;
? Maintaining and updating a database of lab orders and other required documentation; ? Assisting to create and monitor budgets and expenditures;
? Assisting in the preparation of internal and external financial reports;
? Working with the accounting department to resolve accounting and payroll issues; ? Making travel arrangements and processing reimbursements;
? Collaborating closely with logistics, accounting, human resources, scientific and technological platforms, among other departments;
? Liaising with brokers for order clearance;
? Assisting with fixed assets control;
? Performing additional administrative duties as needed to support labs.


Qualifications


Undergraduate degree (BSc or Lic.) in a relevant field is mandatory and experience of working in a research environment is a plus. Good understanding of financial statements and budgets is expected, and excellent organizational skills are essential. Good knowledge of Excel or Google sheets is preferred. This is a full-time position with occasional periods of high-demand, requiring effective time management. You will be asked to prioritize efficiently and multi-task, without compromising attention to detail. Troubleshooting and problem solving with increasing independence and autonomy will be expected over time. Exemplary interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively with culturally diverse stakeholders across departments, demonstrated poise, tact, integrity and professionalism are fundamental to succeed in this job. Good command of written and spoken English is mandatory. Ability to read and write in Portuguese is desirable.


Duration


This position is a one year fellowship with the possibility of extension.
