ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The screener is one of the process stakeholders who intervenes in the client life cycle as part of the KYC Due Diligence.

He is responsible for detecting the presence of PEPs, sanctions or adverse information likely to impact the risk attached to a business relationship, in compliance with internal rules.

Detection of risk factors

• Performs screening according to the guidelines in force and using screening tools selected by the Bank (sanctions, PEP, adverse information)

Pre-assessment of screening results

• Performs a first review of screening results in order to find any positive match for Sanctions or PEPs


• Performs a first analysis of all adverse information as per their relevance and/or materiality


• Categorizes screening results depending on their potential relevance and materiality: False, Potential or True


• In the case of positive/ true hits, the screener is responsible for reviewing those hits to determine whether they are in scope and/or relevant (due to age/ topic or other factors specified by the screening SOP)


• For the true hits that are relevant, the screener is responsible for determining whether the


• investigator has previously vetted the hit in the past or whether it is a new hit that has not been classified before and need to be escalated to the investigator
