ANALYTICS CONSULTING - BI Support engineer Full-time

Analytics Consulting (AC), a team within BNP Paribas to provide Business Intelligence and Artificial intelligence solutions, is looking for a BI Support Engineer to collaborate with the team members and guide the technology solutions, ensuring that the solution design adheres to the team?s architecture.


The AC team is constituted by four communities: Data and Analytics ? structured data and consulting projects; Data Platform ? data services available to everyone; Application Delivery ? scalable and reliable applications; and Artificial Intelligence ? unstructured data projects.

Role and Responsibilities


  • Provide technical support to the team on different tools including databases


  • Conduct daily ETL job checks and take the necessary actions with production & functional support teams


  • Participate in project code reviews before release


  • Contribute to the integrity of the infrastructure setup (define priorities, efficiently create, track the progress of several issues)


  • Perform platform/software version upgrades


  • Coordinate with IT teams to upgrade the technical components used by the platform (Databases, File storage, scheduling tools)


  • Enhance the current platform functionalities, leveraging on cutting edge tools


Profile


  • Bachelor or Master Degree with a technical major, such as engineering, computer science or related fields.


  • Fluent English

  • 5+ years of development / support experience in the IT industry preferably in the Business Intelligence & Data engineering domains

  • Work Experience in the development, deployment & support of large scale data lake / warehouse / business intelligence implementations


  • Experience in handling variety of data sources with large volumes


  • Strong experience in performance tuning of ETL jobs, reporting solutions


  • Experience in automating the some of the support activities


  • Experience in deploying BI solutions


  • Experience in development, support of Big Data ecosystem (hive, spark) is an added advantage


  • In-depth technical and hands-on skills in at least one technology of each of the following:


  • Relational DBMS : Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, IBM


  • Languages: SQL, Python, Power shell / any scripting language, scala / pyspark


  • ETL/analytical tools: Informatica, Pentaho, Talend, SSIS, Abinitio, Data stage, Alteryx, Unix scripting


  • Reporting : Cognos, Qlik view, SSRS, Power BI, Tableau, D3JS


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work in a changing environment / Adaptability
